ADHD
Directed by Chris Scott — Music Video for M83 & CLI
A 40-Year Art Installation
We shot ADHD on private property in central Massachusetts. The golden-hour landscapes that define the video were filmed on a multi-acre art installation created by a single person over forty years. The owner has, by himself, cleared all the trees to create that majestic vista. The entire region was dense forest. This one person cleared it all, alone, over four decades. It was a blessing to film on this massive piece of living art in the middle of the Massachusetts wilderness.

Moveable Sunlight
The barn dance sequence required a flexible lighting solution that could cover the entire length of a 200-foot barn. My solution: Arri M40 HMI lights built into the backs of stakebed trucks. Each truck had its own generator and an M40 strapped to the bed. I could move the lights up and down the length of the barn on either side, adjusting in real time to follow the choreography. The light was never static — it moved with the dancers.
This meant I never had to pause or wait on the lighting department. As the choreography shifted down the barn, the trucks would roll to keep the key light in position. It was a fun, resourceful design that my gaffer and key grip keyed right into and executed brilliantly on a very low budget.
